THE ROBOTIC PAINTING MACHINE is a CNC device I built for making fine arts paintings on large canvases. Custom software was written to generate G-Code from Photoshop files. The system uses the data to paint the image with high quality acrylics. It currently uses 192 colors.

The 3-axis positioning and the high resolution paint depositor are controlled by an Arduino Uno and custom hardware.

A distance sensor is used to float the tip of the depositor above the canvas at a controlled distance, thus accommodating canvases that are not flat.
